According to a study conducted by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), 98 percent of women who underwent breast augmentation surgery reported being highly satisfied with the results. Patients also reported a significant increase in self-esteem as well as overall quality of life.
Most plastic surgeons were not surprised to hear that the results of the study were so positive, since they see women every day who benefit from the operation.
“I see a transformation in what patients wear and how they carry themselves in the office after having a breast augmentation,” one plastic surgeon reported to the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). “In my personal observation, women definitely feel more confident after the procedure, and you can easily see how that improved confidence will lead to improvements in other areas of their lives.”
Breast augmentation continues to be the most popular plastic surgery procedure in the United States, with about 286,000 operations performed in 2012.
Many women feel self-conscious about a small bust size and can benefit from breast augmentation. Other women choose the procedure because they feel their breasts are uneven in size, or they have given birth and finished breast feeding. Patients generally desire a well-proportioned figure and a fuller profile.
Whatever your reasons might be for considering plastic surgery, be sure to choose an experienced plastic surgeon to perform the operation.
