Cosmetic surgery is often associated with anti-aging, but many people falsely believe there is some sort of magical cut off age. The truth is, one is never too old to get plastic surgery, as highlighted by one 80-year-old British citizen who received three facial surgery procedures to enhance her appearance. According to The Daily Mail, Elizabeth Moore, 80, of Nottingham, England, decided that her face’s looks simply didn’t match how she felt inside and decided to get a facelift, dermabrasion and fat injections to look younger and feel more comfortable and confident with her appearance.
Moore isn’t the only baby boomer seeking plastic surgery either. This trend has been growing for some time.
“We are seeing increasing numbers of older women — even in their 80s — asking for cosmetic surgery,” Kevin Hancock, a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, told the news source. “The main reason is that people in their 70s and 80s are much fitter and healthier than previous generations were at that age. They don’t feel their age, but because they look older, they’re still perceived by our society to be doddery old ladies, and they don’t want that … But it’s less about looking younger than having a confidence boost.”
While Moore’s husband of nearly 60 years supported her decision, her daughter and many friends did not, saying she was “too old” to get plastic surgery. However, Moore proved them wrong, and now feels that her appearance matches the age that she feels inside.
