Before your procedure begins, we’ll review your surgical plan with you once more — giving you a final opportunity to ask questions or share any last-minute thoughts. A board-certified anesthesiologist will then administer the appropriate anesthesia, which will have been carefully selected and discussed during your consultation to ensure a pain-free, relaxed experience throughout your procedure.
Once your ideal results have been achieved, your surgeon will carefully close the incisions using advanced suturing techniques designed to support healing and minimize visible scarring. In some cases, a small drain may be placed to prevent fluid buildup and support a smoother recovery process.
Your procedure will be performed in our private, accredited surgical suite in Millersville, MD. Neck and chin liposuction typically takes between thirty minutes to one hour and is done under local anesthesia with or without sedation.
You’ll be comfortably numbed before Dr. Summers or Dr. Spittler creates one to three small incisions, usually placed behind the ears or under the chin. A thin cannula is inserted to break up and suction out the excess fat, carefully sculpting the area for a natural contour. Once complete, the incisions are closed with tiny sutures and a compression garment is placed to support the area and aid healing.
